Warriors and Leprechauns – Storytelling with the Ballymun Cubs

In May this year we were delighted to work with the Ballymun Cubs at a recent storytelling event in the Trinity Comprehensive School. Paudie and Naoise introduced storytelling to a group of 8–10-year-olds in a fun and engaging way with stories of the Na Fianna and the magical world of Na Daoine Sí. Ballymun Cubs is a scouting group for young people in the Ballymun area of Dublin. Cubs are typically under 11, and their real adventure is outdoors with hill-walking, treasure hunts and litter picking, so Naoise and Paudie were delighted to tell stories of the wild outdoors and the landscape of Ireland. Paudie and Naoise’s ability to tailor their story to a group of any age is second to none, and their strong sense of fun really makes the stories come alive. Big shoutout to all the kids and leaders who made this a very special event and provided an excellent welcome. Cubs use the S.P.I.C.E.S. code of development meaning they embiggen the social, physical, intellectual, character, emotional and spiritual qualities of the young person. Paudie and Naoise were very proud to be part of this.
